Conductor shot dead over trifle

KASUR, Nov 16: A bus conductor was shot dead over a trifle here on Thursday morning on Railway Road in A-Division police limits.

Reports said two motorcyclists intercepted a bus (STE-4658) near Adda Khaim Kuran and asked its conductor M Nasir Ali to alight from the vehicle. Later the accused shot at Nasir Ali, killing him on the spot.

Muhammad Sadiq, father of Nasir, told the police that his son had a quarrel with a passenger a couple of days ago over the fare and the accused had threatened him with dire consequences.

A-Division police have registered a case.

GANG SMASHED: Police claimed on Thursday to have smashed a gang of four dacoits during a robbery on Multan Road while one of their accomplices managed his escape.

Police said Pattoki DSP Yahya Hassan Virk received information that robbers were looting a bus on Multan Road. A police party raided there and arrested four bandits while one of their accomplices managed his escape.

The arrested have been identified as Sarwar, Akram, Arshad and Allahyar. Police also recovered illegal weapons from their possession. Pattoki police are investigating.
