LAHORE, Nov 14: The Punjab government on Tuesday cancelled the appointment of its 18 advisers in pursuance of a Lahore High Court judgment passed on Oct 18.
The conferment of the rank and status of adviser to the Punjab government and chief minister's task force on curriculum development Chairperson Dr Nighat Agha and adviser to the chief minister and Punjab Social Services Board Chairperson Mrs Saba Sadiq were also withdrawn. But they were retained as chairpersons of their respective bodies.
The advisers who ceased to hold their offices are: Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi, Dr Javaid Asghar, Dr Faiza Asghar, Mrs Sadia Shehzad, Chaudhry Muhammad Siddique, Rahat Quddusi, Chaudhry Akhtar Rasool and Mian Muhammad Munir (both under suspension), Makhdoom Syed Iftikhar Hussain Gillani, Mansha Sandhu, Sardar Allah Yar Hiraj, Qaiser Amin Butt, Haji Muhammad Hanif, Shaukat Ali Laleka, Pir Mukhtar Ahmed, Raja Muhammad Nasir, Mian Abdul Sattar and Farrukh Mahmood Shah.
