PESHAWAR, Nov 14: The first convocation the PAF College of Education for Women for awarding BEd degrees and postgraduate diplomas in Montessori method of teaching was held here on Tuesday.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed was the chief guest and Vice-Chancellor Air University Islamabad Air Marshal (rtd) Qazi Javed Ahmed presided over the function.

Seventy students were awarded BEd degrees and 16 received postgraduate diplomas.

First position holders of five different BEd batches included Sadiqqa Nasreen (batch-I), Sadia Jabeen (batch-II), Rubab Arif (batch-III), Ayesha Zafar (batch-IV) and Asia Sultan and Samayya GUl (batch-V).

In Montessori course Faiza Israr of batch-I, Jamila Saeed of batch-II and Farzana Begum of batch-III clinched first positions, a press release issued here on Tuesday said.

The PAF chief distributed merit certificates and gold medals among the position holders.

While addressing the fresh graduates, he said, "I am confident that you would build a glorious future on the foundation this prestigious institution has laid down for you. Being pioneers of an educational institution is a great honour, but it demands of you to prove your worth through a professional approach and dedication to the teaching profession."
