HYDERABAD, Nov 11: The registrar of the Pakistan Engineering Council, Maj-Gen (retd) Mahboob-ul-Muzaffar, has said that construction and consultancy works for provincial and federal governments’ projects have to be executed through a set of bidding and contract documents prepared by the PEC.

He was speaking at a seminar on “Pakistan Engineering Council- Bidding and Contract Documents”.

The seminar was jointly organised by the PEC and the directorate of continuing education of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro on Saturday.

MUET Vice-Chancellor Dr A. Q. K. Rajput presided over the seminar.

The registrar said that development of procurement documents was based on international standards to ensure transparent bidding, awards and execution of construction and consultancy contracts.

He said that non-compliance might lead to punitive actions under the PEC.
