KARACHI: KU teachers urged to work for ‘Vision 2010’
KARACHI, Nov 11: The Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Dr Pirzada Qasim, on Saturday said that teachers could develop and provide highly educated leadership to the country as they had always played important role in healthy societies everywhere in the world.
Addressing the annual gathering of Karachi University Teachers Society, he said that time had come for promotion of educational culture in the country. The university had envisaged a ‘Vision 2010’ in which teachers would play key role, he added. He also lauded KUTS for resolving issues facing teachers.

Sarwar Nasim thanked the vice-chancellor for rusticating two students allegedly involved in misbehaving with their teachers and said eligible and qualified teachers should be promoted into the next grades without any further evaluation.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Dr Akhlaq Ahmed, KUTS Secretary Dr Aqeel Ahmed and other senior faculty members and officials of the univeristy also spoke on the occasion, while shields were presented to retiring teachers in recognition of their services.—PPI
