Soldier injured in rocket attack

QUETTA, Nov 9: A soldier suffered serious injuries in a rocket attack on a convoy near Tartani area of the Kohlu district on Thursday, official sources said. Unidentified assailants fired eight rockets at the convoy of security forces when it was passing through Tartani area of the Bhambor mountain range.

“A soldier was wounded and four vehicles were damaged in the attack,” the sources said.

The troops returned fire and after heavy exchange of fire the attackers sitting on hilltops escaped, the sources said.

The injured soldier was taken to the Sui military hospital.

Later, troops were sent to the area to check the movement of militants attacking security forces.

Meanwhile, Frontier Corps personnel defused six landmines in different areas of Dera Bugti that had been found planted on the routes being used by security forces.
