PESHAWAR: Three rockets fired in Peshawar


PESHAWAR, Nov 7: Three rockets, one which failed to explode, landed in various localities in the city early Monday morning in different localities. No casualty or property loss was reported.

According to the police, the first rocket hit an open area near the Mohammadia Madressah in Sufaid Dheri village, the second one, which failed to explode, hit fields in Pakwa village near the provincial capital while the third one exploded harmlessly in the Nawababad area.

The local police seized the unexploded rocket and said the rockets were all Russian-made NDR-12. The police also said that rockets were fired from Bara, a sub-division of the Khyber Agency. SSP (Operations) Iftikhar Khan termed it a terrorist attempt to disrupt peace in the city. He said that investigation had been started.—Correspondent
