Imdad emerges leader

LAHORE, Nov 4: Seasoned golfer Imdad Hussain (Garrison) fired the best card of the tournament, seven-under-par-65, to emerge second day leader with two-day aggregate 134, in the Lahore Garrison Open golf championship on Saturday.

Imdad, who posted a card of 69 on the first day and was tied at second position with M. Munir and Tariq, played calculative strokes on the fairways to grab seven birdies, while losing only one stroke to become the sole leader on second day.

He earned bogies at the 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 9th, 14th and 15th holes. He lost stroke at the 7th.

Experienced golfer Shabbir Iqbal (Islamabad), the opening day leader, was only one stroke behind Imdad after playing a second round of four-under-par-68 to make aggregate of 135.

At 137, Matloob Ahmed (Gymkhana) is occupying the third spot.

M. Munir (Cres Bank), Akhtar Ali and Mohammad Akram (Gymkhana) are tied at 138.

In the amateur category, Adil Jehangir is leading with aggregate of 150.Chasing the leader closely are Shahid Khan (152) and Imran Ahmed (154).
