KARACHI, Nov 3: Pakistan Test discards Naved Lateef, Salman Butt and Imran Nazir tore into the bowling attack of Attock Group as National Bank finished the opening day of their ABN Amro Patron’s Trophy match at 260 for 5 here at the NBP Stadium on Friday.

Put into bat by the opposition, the NBP batting led by a fluent 89 from Naved Lateef made the most of an ordinary Attock Group attack to consolidate their position infront of a small crowd.

Earlier, the dashing opening pair of Salman and Imran put on a rapidfire 65 for the first wicket to provide a sound base for the late order bankers’ batsmen.

Fawad Alam (39 not out) and Test wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal (3 not out) were at the crease at stumps. For Attock, left-arm pacer Sohail Tanveer (2 for 72) and Asim Butt (2 for 46) impressed with the leather.

Summarised score: NBP 1st innings 260 for 5 (Naved Lateef 89, Salman Butt 46, Imran Nazir 45) versus Attock Group.—Agencies
