KOHAT: Preventive steps taken against dengue fever

KOHAT, Nov 3: The Kohat Tehsil Council was informed on Thursday that the administration had taken precautionary measures against dengue fever and anti-virus fumigation had been started in all union councils of the teshsil.

A monthly meeting of the council, which was chaired by Abdul Aman, approved a comprehensive plan for cleanliness drive and to create awareness about the deadly disease.

On a resolution presented by Asghar Ayub, the naib nazim UC urban-1, the house offered fateha for those martyred in Bajaur bombing and condemned the incident.

They unanimously decided not to hand over the civil club to any other department and allocate funds for beautification of the Company Park.

The members agreed to develop the park into a picnic spot, fitness club and children park.

Haji Noormat Khan, Asghar Ayub and Iftikhar Khan demanded inquiry into the incident wherein a handcuffed councillor was paraded through bazaars by police in a criminal case. Some members also staged walkout as a mark of protest against police.

They, however, came back on the assurance of Tehsil Nazim Dilbar Khan advocate that he would take up the matter with the DPO.

The tehsil nazim approved various development schemes worth Rs10 million for UC urban 1 and UC urban 2 on the demand of their respective nazims.
