Clarification

Published October 31, 2006

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: Mr Adil Kaikobad has clarified that his father Homi Jamshed Kaikobad, who died in July 2006, “has nothing to do with the illegal construction” of two hotels in Murree, as reported by Dawn in its October 22 issue, headlined: “Ban-defying construction crops up in SC’s name.”

Mr Adil has written to Dawn that “the person involved in the illegal construction in Murree” was his younger brother Mr Yezdiar Homi Kaikobad who is currently in Adiala jail, facing various corruption charges. Dawn’s story was based on Supreme Court documents and a statement submitted by the Murree Tehsil Nazim in the apex court. Any mix up of names was not intentional on the part of the newspaper.
