HYDERABAD: 4,273 students sit pre-entry test for LUMHS

HYDERABAD, Oct 29: The National Testing Service (NTS) on Sunday conducted a test for admission to MBBS and BDS in the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) and its affiliated colleges for the academic session of 2006-07.
A total of 4,273 boys and girls from 13 districts sat the test at the Public School Latifabad, Hyderabad.
LUMHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Jan Mohammad Memon, Registrar Prof Afzal Memon and controller of examinations Dr Mohammad Anwar Shaikh supervised the test.
The key to the answer papers would be posted on the NTS website (www.nts.org.pk) on Tuesday and the results would be made public on Wednesday and subsequently posted on the website.
LARKANA: The National Testing Service (NTS) and Chandka Medical College (CMC) conducted test amid tight security for admission to the medical college at Police Training School on Sunday. A total of 2,109 candidates vied for 224 seats.
CMC Principal Prof Dr Sikandar Shaikh accompanied by concerned NTS staff supervised the test, which the candidates had come to sit from Larkana, Dadu, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Jacobabad and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts.
The break-up of the total number of candidates shows that 474 candidates from Larkana competed for 41 seats, 417 from Dadu for 45 seats, 238 from Jacobabad for 36 seats, 305 from Qambar-Shahdadkot for 38 seats, 209 from Kashmore for 28 seats and 366 from Shikarpur vied for 36 seats.
Insufficient arrangements for parking vehicles by the college caused traffic congestion on Indus Highway near the examination centre.
