Pemra seizes equipment

PESHAWAR, Oct 22: A team of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority raided offices of several cable networks in the provincial capital and seize the equipment of operators who were relaying proscribed channels.

According to a press release, Pemra had received complaints about relaying of banned channels in Peshawar by different cable operators.

Equipment of some operators were seized while all were issued notices warning them to abstain from relaying banned channels.

Pemra’s regional chief warned all the cable operators to abide by the authority’s laws during Eid days and said strict action would be taken against those violating the law.-—APP
