Eid on 24th likely

ISLAMABAD, Oct 21: The Met department has said astronomical conditions suggest that Eid moon sighting on Oct 23 is possible only along coastal areas.

This is a marginal case and the sighting is dependent on atmospheric conditions, Met department spokesman said, adding that moon sighting on Oct 22 would only be possible for 5 to 10 minutes before the sunset.

A press release issued by the department says the information is subject to confirmation by the central Ruet-i-Hilal committee.
