Pace duo will be missed: Inzy

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Oct 20: Pakistan’s regular captain, Inzamam-ul-Haq said it would be sad if Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif missed the home series against the West Indies.

Inzamam, who met the PCB chairman on Friday to discuss certain points relating to next month’s home series, remarked that whatever happened in the case of Shoaib and Asif was not good and he only wished the fast bowlers could play against Brian Lara’s men.

Commenting on the doping scandal, he said such cases would definitely be minimised in future because the players would be more cautious after the recent implementation of doping policy.

Lauding Pakistan's fine victory against Sri Lanka in the ICC Champions Trophy, Inzamam said the players put up a superb show to snatch victory from the tough Sri Lankans, despite many shortcomings. "The way Pakistan played gives me lot of hope for their chances in the ICC Champions Trophy," he said.
