KARACHI, Oct 19: A three-member Pakistan golf team will fly to Cape Town, South Africa, on Sunday to compete in World Amateur Golf Team Championship for Eisen Hower trophy being held there from Oct 26 to 29.
The golfers picked after a series of trials include Ali Hai, Vaqas Ahmed and Mohammad Safdar. Secretary, Punjab Golf Association, Zulfiqar Rana, will accompany the team as manager.
Teams of 75 nations are expected to compete in the biannual competition to be played over 72 holes.
Secretary, Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF), Taimur Hassan, will also travel with the squad as delegate to attend meeting of International Golf Federation.
The meeting, among other matters, will hold elections and select venue for the next world championship.
