Two more teams in last eight

KARACHI, Oct 15: PIA Academy and Pak PWD moved into quarter-finals after winning their respective matches in the Karachi Gymkhana-AKD Ramazan cricket tournament at the KG Ground on Sunday.

PIA Academy defeated Tapal CC by 43 runs to clinch second position in Group ‘C’ with Anwar Ali, Kamran Sajid and Tahir Khan taking three wickets apiece.

In the other fixture, Pak PWD outclassed A.O.CC by eight wickets to secure second place in Group ‘D’.

Mohammad Masroor scored an unbeaten 53 for the winners.

Summarised scores:

PIA Academy beat Tapal CC by 43 runs.

PIA ACADEMY 151-8 in 20 overs (Khurram Manzoor 42, Fahad Iqbal 35 not out; Danish Kaneria 2-22, Hanif-ur-Rehman 2-24); TAPAL CC 108-9 in 20 overs (Abdur Rehman 32 not out, Adeel Malik 25; Anwar Ali 3-16, Tahir Khan 3-21, Kamran Sajid 3-22).

Pak PWD beat A.O.CC by eight wickets.

A.O.CC 141-7 in 20 overs (Shahid Ayub 45, Nauman Ikram 45; Aamir Yousuf 2-16); PAK PWD 146-2 in 15.3 overs (Mohammad Masroor 53 not out, Ameeruddin 34, Daniyal Ahsan 28 not out; S.M.A. Shah 2-27).
