MULTAN, Oct 3: Seven people were killed and three others injured in an armed clash between two parties following incidents of teasing of a girl in Bhakkar on Tuesday.

According to reports, three youths of Bachri tribe teased a nomad girl after which Pakhtoons opened fire on them, killing Muhammad Mumtaz, Muhammad Haji and Muhammad Nawaz on the spot.

Bhakkar District Headquarters Hospital from where they were shifted to the Nishter Hospital Multan.

When the people of Bachri tribe in Basti Bokhara and Basti Mian Khan learnt about the incident, they attacked nomadic Pakhtoons and killed Salam Khan, Adam Khan, Baddai Khan and an unidentified person besides injuring Novani Khan who was hospitalised.

The Saddar police arrested nine Pakhtoons after instituting a case.

KIDNAP: A seven-year-old boy was kidnapped for ransom here on Tuesday.

A milkman, Khadim Husain of Jampur village told police that some unidentified people had kidnapped his son Shan Babar and were demanding Rs500,000 for his release.

The Qutabpur police have registered a case.

FINE: Deputy District Officer (Revenue) Ali Akbar on Tuesday slapped Rs6,500 fine on four shopkeepers for overcharging customers.

Special magistrate fined Rs5,000 to Shahzad for overcharging on bricks, Rs500 to cement trader Imran, Rs500 to Falaksher, a grocer, and Rs500 to Sanaullah, a hotel owner.
