BD award for lawmakers

DHAKA, Sept 26: The speaker of Bangladesh’s parliament has decided to honour 20 lawmakers with awards in recognition of their attendance record.

“I will announce the names of the lawmakers on the basis of the highest attendance at the session of the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) and each of them will be awarded a certificate and a crest of the parliament,” the speaker said on Monday.

The speaker said the names of members would be announced on Oct 4, the concluding day of the current and final session of the present parliament. “We will organise a reception on Oct 5 to hand over the crests and certificates to the lawmakers.”
