KARACHI, Sept 18: Shah Faisal Town Nazim Mohammed Imran has directed the officials concerned to take action against those indulged in wall chalking. During a surprise visit to various areas of the town, he expressed his displeasure over the menace of wall chalking and asked police to check this growing practice. He urged people, social and welfare organisations, business community, town municipal administration and union councils to cooperate with each other in order to ensure neat and clean environment to the people.
The town nazim also issued directive to take action against those indulging in dumping construction material on roads. He said that the dumping of construction material on roads not only destroyed roads but also hindered traffic flow.
He said that supremacy of law should be ensured to provide people a better environment to live.
The land and revenue department was directed to take timely departmental action to protect town’s infrastructure and check illegal digging of roads and dumping of construction material.
Naib Nazim Ali Akbar, TMO Barkat Rizvi, heads of all town departments, police and KWSB officials were also present during the visit.
ROADS: The patch work at main roads in Lyari with a total cost of Rs10 million started on Monday.
Lyari Town Nazim Mohammad Fayyaz inaugurated the work. The roads to be repaired include Fakir Mohammed Durran Khan Road, Chakiwara Road, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Road and Tannery Road.—APP
