Pakistan team to train in Jaipur

KARACHI, Sept 9: Pakistan's Champions Trophy squad will set up a week-long training camp in Jaipur ahead of the mini-World Cup to be held from Oct 7 in India.

A PCB official said on Saturday that the team management was of the opinion that the players deserved a proper break after the hectic series in England and so a regular training camp at home was not necessary.

“Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and coach Bob Woolmer feel that instead of having the training camp in Pakistan, it would be better to give the players a complete break for three weeks and then train for a week in India,” the official said.

He added that captain had suggested this arrangement would also allow players to spend the first 10 days of the holy month of Ramazan with their families and give them time to relax and unwind.

The Pakistan team is to arrive in India on Oct 7 and set up a week-long camp in Jaipur where they play their first match against a qualifier on Oct 17.— Agencies
