QUETTA, Sept 3: Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan and Baloch nationalist leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal have said that there is a need for a joint struggle by Pakhtuns, Balochs and Sindhis to protect the rights of the oppressed nations.

The two leaders met at Mengal House here on Sunday and discussed the political situation in the country, particularly in Balochistan.

BNP sources said Sardar Mengal and the ANP leader agreed that nationalist political forces of the three provinces should forge an alliance to struggle from one platform against the military dictatorship and Punjab’s domination. They said the two leaders would again meet on Sept 17.
