Four cases registered

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 3: The capital administration in its drive against misuse of loudspeakers and sale of hate material has registered four cases, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Mohammad Ali told Dawn on Sunday.

The official said two cases of selling hate material were registered last Friday and cases relating to misuse of loud speakers were registered in the recent past.

He said the ICT officials deployed outside different mosques, nabbed two persons at different places selling hate material.

“Both the accused had been arrested and investigations are underway to identify the publishers and groups behind publication of such martial.”

The deputy commissioner said the local administration would not spare anyone involved in any practices that cause hatred among different sects.

He said in a recent meeting, Ulema belonging to different sects had assured the local administration that they had nothing to do with the publication of hate material and the ICT administration was free to take any action against those found involved in the heinous business.

The Ulema asked the high-ups of the ICT administration that it was their responsibility to check sale and publication of such books, leaflets and pamphlets in Islamabad.
