KARACHI, Sept 3: The leaders of the Haq Parast group in the City Council have criticised the opposition leaders for taking political mileage out of a non-political issue.

They took a serious note of the allegations of the opposition leaders regarding the recent postponement of the City Council session, saying that there was no link between two separate events because of their nature.

They claimed that the council meeting was postponed on the request of 83 councillors many of them were also UC nazims, who had made a formal request of adjournment because they were too occupied in cleanliness work in their respective areas.

Senior presiding officer Masood Mehmmod argued that if one third members could call a meeting, they could also request for the postponement of the same.

The leader of the Haq Parast group, Asif Siddique, said that it was not correct to say that the meeting was postponed because of fears that Nawab Bugti’s death would dominate the debate of the house.

He said the views of the Muttahida chief were no more secret who had always condemned military operation in Balochistan and insisted on a political solution of the problems in the troubled province.
