Nine killed in accident

FATEHJHANG, Aug 31: Nine persons were killed and seven others injured when a passenger wagon collided with a truck at Pindigheb on Thursday, police said. The Pindigheb-bound passenger wagon (LWC-1395) coming from Rawalpindi collided with a truck (Peshawar C-4298) coming from the opposite direction while overtaking another vehicle near Amdal. Those killed in the accident were identified as Khadim Ali, the wagon driver; Mohammad Tufail, Hafiz Abdur Rehman, his son Khalid Mehmood; Irshad Hussain, Zahid Akhter, Mohammad Imran and Ahmed Khan. One person said to be in his 50s was yet to be identified.

The injured identified as Mohammad Rafique, Syed Mohammad Ahsan, Akhter Hussain Shah, Sajid, Mohammad Asif, Amber Hussain and Zubair Hussain were shifted to different hospitals at Pindigheb, where they were in stable condition.
