No-trust session to focus on Balochistan

By Ahmed Hassan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 28: ARD chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim and MMA’s deputy parliamentary leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed and other legislators from both sides met in Parliament Lodges on Friday evening to finalise strategy on the no-trust motion.

The combined opposition’s deliberation continued till late night. It was learnt that the opposition was likely to shift its focus from charges of corruption and mismanagement to the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

The prime minister Shaukat Aziz also held a meeting with his party leaders to chalk out a plan to tackle the opposition’s no-trust move.

National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain’s sudden move to adjourn the session till Tuesday without allowing any opposition lawmaker to speak was also a topic of discussion among opposition leaders.

It was presumed that the decision to adjourn the assembly session had come from the president and endorsed by prime minister Shaukat Aziz in his meeting with ruling party chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Commenting on the adjournment, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed said: “It surprised us all because we had persuaded the treasury to adopt a unanimous condolence resolution for Nawab Bugti.”
