KHAIRPUR, Aug 28: Police have failed to find any clue to the whereabouts of kidnapped trader Roshan Gilal. He was kidnapped on Sunday from his house in the Mehtani village in the Sobhodero area.

Villagers and police had followed footprints of the accused, which led to the banana garden in kutcha area in the jurisdiction of the Mehboob Kalhoro police station.

Villagers held a protest meeting in the Mehtani village, Sobhodero taluka, and condemned the kidnapping and non-cooperation of police.

RECRUITMENT: Over 8,000 candidates appeared in the test held on Sunday and Monday to fill 45 vacant posts of police constables in the Khairpur district.

The test was scheduled to be held in the Mumtaz ground, but due to a large number of candidates, the venue was shifted to the police line, Khairpur.

DROWNED: One cattle grazer drowned in a lake on Sunday evening.

Ali Mohammad Narejo drowned near village Ali Khan Narejo, katcha area of Razidero on Sunday evening. His body was fished out on Monday.
