KARACHI, Aug 22: Four ships carrying containers, chemicals and furnace oil were accommodated berths at QICT, EVT and Fotco Terminal during last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with chemicals, containers and carbon oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 80pc as nine ships, Xiang Wan, Sealand Freedom, MOL Kauri, Ryu Gyong, Multan, Ikan Selar, Chemstar Hero, Al-Mukhtarah and Hellenic Breeze, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, sugar, chemicals, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 99,183 tons comprising 73,127 tons of import and 26,056 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Kauri, Sealand Freedom, Anette Kosan and Chemstar Hero left the port while Xiang Wan and Al-Mukhtarah were due to depart.
