Published August 19, 2006

LARKANA, Aug 18: The Larkana circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday ordered that an FIR registered against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, MPA Ayaz Soomro, MNA Anwar Bhutto and hundreds of other party workers be quashed.

The Market police had in 1999 filed the case under section 188 (the violation of section 14) against the PPP leaders and about 400 to 500 party workers.

The charge-sheet was submitted to the court of first judicial magistrate after seven years delay on July 7, 2006, following which the nominees in the FIR filed a direct application in Sindh High Court circuit bench with the request to quash the FIR.
