By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Aug 3: A schoolboy who went missing on Wednesday was found drowned in a nullah on Thursday, while a 50-year-old man drowned in a nullah in Bhara Kahu, the civil defence authorities said.

Subhan Anees, 14, an 8th class student living in a Safari villa, went missing after leaving his house.

During search, a civil defence team led by district officer civil defence Raja Liaquat spotted the body of the boy floating on the surface of a nearby nullah.

Moving scenes were witnessed when the parents of the boy received the body.

In a similar incident, Zakir Hussain, 50, drowned in a nullah in Bhara Kahu. Zakir along with his son was fishing when he lost balance and slipped into the nullah.

Meanwhile, the civil defence department has been placed on high alert in the light of widespread rains and flash floods forecast in nullah/ravines.

The district officer civil defence in a statement on Thursday warned people living in low-lying areas to remain alert during the next three days.
