KARACHI, Aug 3: The University of Karachi on Thursday declared the results of MBBS (final professional) annual examination 2006, with a pass percentage of 75.76.
The top three positions in the merit lists were secured by woman students, including two of the Dow Medical College (DMC) and one of Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC). As many as 821 candidates appeared in examination, out of which 622 were declared pass.
Kiran Afshan, seat no 43487, of the DMC, clinched first position by securing 1,987 marks out of 2,700. Another student of the DMC, Sadaf Ausaf, seat no 43584, bagged the second position, while Anam Naveed Khan, seat no 43034, of the KMDC got the third position. Result of one candidate was withheld for the use of unfair means.
FEE SCHEDULE: The semester examinations cell of the University of Karachi on Thursday announced the schedule for submission of tuition and examination fee for the second semester 2006, adds PPI.
The arts faculty will collect fee from Aug 3 to 21, at its office while students of the science faculty were asked to submit their fee from Aug 3 to 31 at the fee collection counter of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
The NBP will also collect the fee from pharmacy students from Aug 1 to 5. The students of public administration were asked to submit their fee from Aug 22 to 24, computer science from Aug 25 to 28 and the commerce department from Aug 31 to 29 at the fee collection counter of the United Bank Limited.
Training course : A six-day training course in physiology will commence from Aug 7 at the University of Karachi, during which experts in the field are scheduled to deliver lectures and conduct training programmes.
The vice-chancellor of the University of Karachi Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, will be the chief guest at the inaugural session of the six-day programme.
The main objective of this event is to train teachers of degree colleges of Sindh in the subject of physiology.
BCom exam: The examinations department of the University of Karachi on Thursday announced that BCom supplementary examinations 2005 will commence from Aug 10.
The students of BCom part-I, II and both parts are asked to collect their admit cards from Silver Jubilee Gate, University of Karachi from Aug 2 to 7 by showing original fee receipts and NICs.
