KARACHI: Withdrawal of security from seminary flayed

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 26: Legislators of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, Abdul Sattar Afghani and Mohammad Laeeq Khan have criticised the withdrawal of security personnel from the seminary in Binnori Town and said that it was tantamount to a clear threat to religious scholars and seminaries.

They said that during the present government, eminent scholars like Dr Habibullah Mukhtar, Maulana Yusuf Ludhyanvi, Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, Mufti Mohammad Jamil Khan, Mufti Atiqur Rehman, Mufti Iqbal, Allama Mukhtar Qadri and Allama Hasan Turabi were killed.

They said when the government had withdrawn security, Allama Hasan Turabi had issued a statement, saying that the government wanted his assassins to succeed but regretted that his warnings had gone unheeded.

They termed the withdrawal of security personnel from the prestigious religious institution of Jamia Binnoria part of a similar conspiracy.

MMA: Central leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) and Amir Jamaat-i-Islami Sindh Chapter Dr Mumtaz Memon said on Wednesday that the MMA would continue struggle against global injustice, and for implementation and law and order and restoration of democracy in Pakistan, adds PPI.
