NSC to meet today

LAHORE, July 16: A meeting of the National Security Council is scheduled to be held under the chairmanship of President Pervez Musharraf in Islamabad on Monday.

According to official sources, law and order situation is among the main items on the agenda. The meeting is expected to be briefed by the Foreign Office.

The Senate chairman, the National Assembly Speaker and all four chief ministers will attend the meeting. Leader of Opposition Maulana Fazlu Rehman, though a member of the council, will stay away.

This will be the second NSC meeting in which the NWFP chief minister will be participating.
