Atif shines in Twenty20

KARACHI, July 16: Tapal Cricket Club advanced into the semifinal of Ian Fyfe Memorial Twenty20 cricket tournament following their five-wicket triumph over Muhammad Hussain Colts at the KGA Gymkhana Ground on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 102, Tapal CC achieved it comfortably to confirm their last-four berth. Atif Alvi with unbeaten 42 led the winners' scorecard while Hanifur Rehman and Zafar Iqbal also played useful innings of 21 and 22 respectively.

Earlier, Shaukat Ahmed grabbed three wickets to help Tapal CC restricted MHC to 101-8 in stipulated overs.

Besides, Danish Amin and Kamran Umer took two wickets apiece while Mohsin Sultan (21) was the top scorer for MHC.—PPI
