QUETTA, July 14: Baloch Club Quetta joined Punjab Medical College (PMC) and Pakistan Television (PTV) in the final phase of the 6th PFF Cup at the Mali Bagh ground on Friday.
Despite playing a goalless draw against Nushki’s Baloch Club, the Baloch Club Quetta topped group “B” with four points.
In another match, PTV chalked up second successive victory when they got the better of Higher Education Commission (HEC) 2-1 in Group “D” at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.
The winners surged ahead through Asmat Ullah's goal in 20th minute but HEC struck back through skipper Safi Ullah ten minutes into second half. PTV's winger Naimat Ullah slammed the decisive goal in 64th minute.
PMC Faisalabad rallied hard to beat Bannu Red 1-0 in Group “C” at KRL Stadium, Rawalpindi.
The winner was scored by Mohammad Afzal in the 31st minute. PMC topped the group with six points from two matches.
Sindh Government Press (SGP) and Pakistan Public Works Department (PPWD) were engaged in a 2-2 draw in the Group “A” tie at the CDGK Stadium, Karachi.
The PPWD twice took the lead but SGP managed to neutralise on both the occasions. Shahzad Hussain scored both the goals for PPWD in the 50th and 72nd minutes while SGP scored through Lal Mohammad (70th min) and Wasim (75th min).
