KARACHI, July 14: National Rifle Association of Pakistan on Friday named a 22-member national shooting squad to participate in the 10th South Asian Games scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from August 18 to 28.
The team was named by NRAP secretary-general Khalid Javed which included 15 men and seven women shooters.
He also announced a panel of three coaches, including two Chinese coaches.
Irshad Ali, who won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games in March, leads the team.
Five pistol events – free pistol, centre fire pistol, standard pistol, point22 and rapid-fire pistol – will be contested in the event.
Pakistan shooters will feature in three events of men and two of women.
Squad:
Men pistol: Irshad Ali, Mohammad Maqbool, Mustaqeem Shah, Afsar Khan, Mohammad Boota, Tariq Manzoor, Mohammad Afzal, Farhan Khan.
Men rifle: Siddiq Khan, M. Ayaz Tahir, Mohammad Mushtaq, Dawood Jan, Mohammad Kaleem, Tufail Ahmed, Rehman Shahzad.
Women pistol: Farhat Nasreen, Mehwish Maqsood, Azra Nazir.
Women rifle: Urooj Fatima, Nazish Khan, Hibra Yaqoob, Nadia Saeed.
Coaches: Razi Ahmed Khan and Feng Shi (pistol); Chen Shiping (rifle).—APP
