PESHAWAR: Three bandits killed

PESHAWAR, July 14: Three alleged highway robbers were killed and their accomplice and a police constable were injured in an encounter near Suray Pul on the GT Road on Thursday night.

According to police, four people were trying to escape in a rickshaw after allegedly robbing one Aqeel Ahmad in Zaryab Colony. Aqil contacted Faqirabad police and told them that the robbers had snatched Rs12,000 and a mobile phone set and escaped towards Suray Pul in a rickshaw. Two constables, Khanzeb and Sadique Khan, tried to stop the rickshaw near Suray Pul, but the accused opened fire.
