KARACHI, July 4: A fine century by Ali Jawwad propelled Zone-IV to 328 all out against Zone-III on the first day of the two-day PCB Inter-district Under-19 Karachi region fixture on Tuesday.

Ali struck eight boundaries in scoring 108 off 240 balls. He was involved in a fifth-wicket partnership of 118 with Imran Tariq, who hit a quick 76 off 74 balls with five sixes and six fours.

Ali had earlier put on 94 for the third-wicket with Mohammad Jawwad Khan (48 with nine fours).

Medium-pacer S.M. Zafar claimed five for 67 in 22.1 overs.

Zone-VI were poised for victory against Zone-V after the latter were dismissed for a moderate 181 with spinners Ehteshamuddin and Mohib Ali taking eight wickets between them

Zone-VI closed at 108 for two with opener Fazal Subhan going great guns on a 91-ball 77, including nine fours and two sixes.

Slow left-armer Ahmed Iqbal continued his excellent form in the championship with another rich haul. This time he captured six for 57 in 26.1 overs as Zone-I mustered 206 despite good knocks from Siddique Umar (70) and Hafiz Asad (68). Zone-II were 49 for two at stumps.
