Abid claims title

ISLAMABAD, July 2: Abid Ali on Sunday defeated Sadanul Haq to win the under-17 title in the first Shalimar Club Open tennis championship.

Meanwhile, an injury to Azam Jameel allowed Kaleem Imam and Haroon Rasheed win veterans doubles crown.

The team of Azam and Inamul Haq won the first set 6-4 and were 2-5 down in the second when the match stopped due to the injury.

Results:

U-17 singles: Abid Ali bt Sadanul Haq 6-1, 6-0.

Veterans doubles: Kaleem Imam/Haroon Rasheed bt Azam Jameel/Inamul Haq.
