LAHORE, June 12: The Punjab IGP on Monday transferred and posted seven senior police officers. The transfers and postings included that of two important districts —- Gujrat and Gujranwala.

Gujranwala district police officer Dr Arif Mushtaq besides DIG Zafar Abbas Lak had been transferred a couple of days ago in a rare move. Differences between the two officers were said to be the main reason for their transfers.

The DPO was replaced with Punjab police AIG (discipline) Muhammad Asif.

Meanwhile, Gujrat DPO Raja Munawwar Husain was transferred and posted as SP Highway patrolling post Sargodha. He had been replaced with DPO Rahim Yar Khan Ahsan Mahboob.

Punjab investigation police SP Shahid Hanif had been posted as DPO Rahim Yar Khan.

SP Highway patrolling post Sargodha Saad Akhtar had been posted as Punjab police AIG (discipline).

Lahore headquarters police SP Tassadaq Hayat had been transferred and posted as Vehari DPO. He had been replaced by SP Saeed Ahmad Gondal.
