ISLAMABAD, June 10: Ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Saturday called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at his chambers in the Parliament House and discussed with him issues relating to budget and the party.

The prime minister told the PML chief that the government was working on the reform agenda to improve the living standard of people.

PML Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain Syed and Health Minister Naseer Khan also attended the meeting.

Mr Aziz said the decision to sell pulses at discounted prices at Utility Stores had caused a fall in their prices in the market and added that with improvement in stocks through import of pulses prices would further decrease.

The two leaders reviewed the ongoing budget debate in the National Assembly and the Senate and expressed satisfaction at suggestions being made on allocations.

Referring to PML’s centennial celebrations, Mr Aziz said that 2006 being the 100th founding year of the party was historic and it was encouraging that the League workers were celebrating the year with enthusiasm and pride.

Chaudhry Shujaat spoke highly of the sacrifices that the party’s forefathers had rendered for the country.
