TOBA TEK SINGH, June 9: Robbers killed on Friday a teenage girl and injured her mother in a village near Gojra. Three robbers came to the house of Mahboob Alam in Chak 241 GB Garha as guests at around noon. When they were taken to the drawing room, they whipped out their weapons and held the house owner at gunpoint.

They collected Rs100,000 in cash, gold ornaments and other valuables. In the meantime, his wife Kausar and daughter Adeela, 16, raised an alarm and the robbers opened fire on them, killing the girl on the spot and injuring the woman.

She was admitted to the Gojra THQ hospital in critical condition.

SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide on Friday after injuring his mother and another youth in Chak 314 GB.

Anwar was reportedly mentally retarded. He shot and injured one Tahir Salim in the street and then came to his house and shot and injured his mother Bashiran. Later, he locked himself in a room and shot himself dead.

His mother and Tahir were rushed to Chuttiana hospital from where Tahir was referred to Allied hospital, Faisalabad, in critical condition.

CASE REGISTERED: Saddar police registered on Friday cases against two ulema for violation of the ban on the use of loudspeaker.

Maulana Amjad and Maulana Ashraf had delivered speeches in the mosque of Chak 321 JB Seowal. They have not been yet arrested.
