Customs, ASF officials scuffle

RAWALPINDI, June 3: A customs inspector and an Airport Security Force official had a scuffle at the Islamabad International Airport on Saturday when the former tried to get his female relative cleared for boarding.

The female passenger Maqsooda Bagum wanted to take a cane of (Ghee) on London flight PK-785 when she was stopped by the ASF official. He told the lady that taking (Ghee) on the plane was not allowed which annoyed the customs official, who started scuffling with the ASF official. It caught attention of the security staff who overpowered both the officials and shifted them to the ASF control room. The sources said that inquiry has been launched into the incident.

Despite repeated attempts, the AC customs was not available for his comments.

Meanwhile, a 70-year-old passenger was arrested by the ANF staff and seized 500 grams of heroin concealed in his shoes at Islamabad International Airport.
