KARACHI: Child, old man killed in road accidents

KARACHI, June 3: Two persons, including a child, died in road accidents on Saturday.

Six-year-old Rehman was playing near his home in Surjani Town when a vehicle hit him. Rehman died on the spot. Police failed to locate the driver responsible for the accident.

In another accident, an unknown man, in his early 60s, died after he was hit by an unknown vehicle on Mauripur Road. The man was believed to have been crossing the road when the vehicle had hit him. The body was sent to a hospital for autopsy. Later, the body was shifted to Edhi morgue for identification purpose.

SUICIDE: A young girl committed suicide at her house in Quaidabad on Saturday.

Police said that Uzma, 18, locked herself in a room and hanged herself against a ceiling fan. Police sent the body to a hospital for autopsy. Police believed that the girl had committed suicide after she quarrelled with her family on a petty matter.

BODY FOUND: The body of a man was found from a trunk inside his one-room house in Shah Faisal Colony on Saturday.

Neighbours smelt the stench coming out of the house and informed the police, who reached the spot, broke open the house. Police found a trunk and as they opened it, a body was lying in it.

The body was sent to a hospital where doctors said that the man died some five to six days back. Police believed the man was killed and stuffed into the trunk. He was identified as Mohammad Amir, an employee of a private firm.
