WASHINGTON, June 2: President George W. Bush is adding three accused drug traffickers and two reputed crime organisations to the US list of foreign drug kingpins, denying them access to the American financial system and barring them from trade with US companies and individuals.
The additions, announced on Thursday, bring to 62 the number of individuals and entities designated under the 1999 Kingpin Act to target significant foreign narcotics dealers, their organisations and operatives worldwide.
The three individuals added to the list were Dawood Ibrahim of India, Fahd Jamil Georges of Brazil and Ali Naway of Iran. The organisations are the Dawood Ibrahim Organisation in India, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates and the Amezcua Contreras Organisation in Mexico.—AP
