MIANWALI, May 30: Three high officials of the government vocational training institute (VTI) allegedly beat up principal of the government high school at his office here on Tuesday for unearthing a bogus degree scandal.

Reports said VTI honorary chairman Mushtaq Khan, its principal Muhammad Javed and project manager Shahsawar Khan riding an official car entered the school and rushed to the principal’s office. They allegedly ransacked the furniture, destroyed certain official record and started beating up principal Abdul Rashid. The accused dragged the principal out of his office and tried to abduct him in their car, but the school staff rescued him.

Some eyewitnesses told the correspondent that the accused were abusing the principal for unearthing the bogus degree scandal.

It is worth-mentioning that principal Abdul Rashid has recently apprised the education department highups of the teachers who got promotions on the basis of bogus degrees of higher education.

It is learnt that main accused Mushtaq Khan is the cousin of provincial minister Sabtain Khan.
