ISLAMABAD, May 26: The government will next week repatriate 71 Indian fishermen arrested for illegally fishing Pakistan’s territory, the foreign ministry announced on Friday.
The fishermen would be handed over to Indian authorities on May 30 at Wagah, it said in a statement.
The ministry termed the release a ‘goodwill gesture’.
The announcement came three days after India said it would release 59 Pakistani fishermen. They are due to return home on Saturday.
Home secretaries of both the countries are scheduled to hold talks from Tuesday.—AFP
