Excise man shot dead

LAHORE, May 20: An excise official was shotdead by two people in his house at the Poonch House Staff Colony on Saturday. Police said Sultan Adil (45) was an official of the excise department, who had contracted two marriages. A property dispute was going on between him and his second wife Shahnaz and her brothers who lived in Samanabad.

On Saturday, she reportedly sent two unidentified men to her husband’s house to discuss the issue who opened fireon him as soon as he opened the door and fled.

The man died on the spot. His body was removed to the city morgue for autopsy. The deceased was the father of six children.

A case has been registered against accused Shahnazand two accomplices.

In another incident, unidentified people broke into the house of farmer Malik Niamat Ali at Shadiwal village in Sattu Katla in the early hours of Saturday, and shot dead him when he was sleeping.
