Mudassar takes charge

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, May 15: Former Test cricketer Mudassar Nazar who had been appointed Director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) assumed charge on Monday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Mudassar early this month by bypassing its own terms and conditions.

The PCB in an advertisement published in the newspapers had asked for a director, who had passed Level-3 course, which Mudassar has not.

Former captain Mushtaq Mohammad, Jalaluddin, Shahid Aslam and Shahid Mehboob had acquired Level-3.

The PCB had stopped the NCA's working in June last year, to run it in a professional manner.

The head coach of the NCA is yet to be appointed.

Mudassar will meet PCB chairman Shaharyar M. Khan shortly.
