ISLAMABAD, May 11: Pakistan's Junior Fed Cup girls in Thailand suffered their third successive defeat on Wednesday, this time at the hands of Sri Lanka.
After losing to Japan and Korea earlier, Pakistan were beaten 2-0 with the doubles match not taking place because of rain.
Jithme Jayawickrema scored a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win over Aamna Hameed while Amreetha Mutthaih dispatched Pakistan's No 1 Sarah Mahboob 6-3, 6-3 to complete victory.
Pakistan are now out of last eight and will play for positions 9th to 16th. The side were playing Taiwan on Thursday.
The only consolation for the national team so far has been Aamna winning the first set out of 16 played by the side. The England-based player flew in directly to Bangkok to join her team-mates there.
